1. Introduction

Giift.com is the trademark of GIFT MANAGEMENT ASIA PTE LTD, a limited private company registered in the Republic of Singapore under number 201208371E which maintains its principal place of business at 6 Raffles Quay, 16-01, 048580 Singapore. GIFT MANAGEMENT ASIA PTE LTD shall be referred as Giift.com in this User Agreement.

 

2. Information collected

Data Controllers

The personal information provided to, or gathered by Giift.com is controlled by Giift.com. If you have any concern about providing information to us or having such information displayed on the Giift.com services or otherwise used in any manner permitted in this Privacy Policy and the User Agreement, you should not become a Member of Giift.com or visit our website. 

When an account is created with us, the information provided (including your name, email address, and password) that we use to give you a personalized and relevant experience on Giift.com.

Registration

To create an account on Giift.com, you must provide us with at least your name, email address, and a password. You can choose to provide further information about yourself during the registration process. We use this additional information to provide you with more customized services like language-specific profile pages and updates, more relevant redemption offers and ads. You understand that, by creating an account, Giift.com and others will be able to identify you by your Giift.com profile, and you allow Giift.com to use this information in accordance with this Privacy and our User Agreement. We may also ask for your credit card details if you purchase certain Giift.com services.

Using the Giift.com Site and Applications

We collect information when you use the Giift.com website, Giift.com applications, and Giift.com platform technology (such as “Share on Giift.com” plugins for publishers). For example, we collect information when you view or click on ads, redeem your programs or cards, share your activity or participate to reviews. We collect information when you use your Giift.com account to sign in to other sites or services, and when you view web pages that include Giift.com plugins.

Giift.com does not require its Website users or visitors to provide Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) to view the Content on the Website or to browse the different sections of the Website. PII is information that identifies an individual including full name, postal or physical address, photograph, e-mail address and/or telephone number. Giift.com may collect PII from the Website users or visitors who voluntarily choose to provide PII upon registration to one of our services, such as the Giift.com Premium and/or Giift.com DIY.

You may correct or update certain PII by logging in to your account with Giift.com and making the change on your personal information page. If you no longer desire to obtain our services or wish to delete or deactivate your account, you can contact us at [email protected] and ask that we will do it for you.

Notwithstanding anything else in this policy, we may work with partners who use mobile SDKs, including the OneSignal Messaging SDK, to passively collect information (collectively, “SDK Information”), which generally helps us deliver personalized notifications. This data may also be used to identify you in a unique manner across other devices or browsers for the purposes of customizing ads or content. Depending on the permissions granted to this application, this information may include personally identifiable information (PII) including your e-mail address. This information may also include precise location (i.e. GPS-level data) or WiFi information, apps you have installed and enabled, and your mobile identifier (e.g., Android Advertising ID).

Consumer Control & Opt-Out Options

a. Opting-out of OneSignal Push Notifications

You may in most cases opt out of receiving push notifications by going to your device “Settings” and clicking on “Notifications,” and then changing those settings for some or all of the apps on your device. (Different device configurations, or updates to devices, may affect or change how these settings work.)

b. Opting Out of “Cross-App” Advertising on Mobile Devices

You can opt out of having your mobile advertising identifiers used for certain types of interest-based (also called “cross-app”) mobile behavioral advertising, by accessing the “settings” on your Apple or Android mobile device, as follows: By opening the Google Settings app on your device, selecting Ads, and then selecting the option to opt-out of interest-based ads. (Different device configurations, or updates to devices, may affect or change how these settings work.)

 

Using Third-Party Services and Visiting Third-Party Sites

We receive information when you use your Giift.com account to log in to a third-party website or application. If you are logged in as a Giift.com Member when you visit sites with Giift.com plugins, we use this information to recommend tailored content to you. Giift.com will use this information to personalize the Giift.com-provided functionality on third-party sites. Giift.com may provide reports containing aggregated impression information to companies hosting Giift.com plugins and similar technologies to help them measure Giift.com-generated traffic to their websites. We use cookies to help personalize your Giift.com experience and show relevant ads.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies, including mobile device identifiers, to help us recognize you, improve your Giift.com experience, increase security, measure use of our Services, and serve redemption and advertising. 

Log files, IP Addresses, and Information About Your Computer and Mobile Device

When you visit or leave Giift.com by clicking a hyperlink or view a plugin on a third-party site, we automatically receive the URL of the site from which you came or the one to which you are directed. Also, advertisers receive the URL of the page that you are on when you click an ad on Giift.com. We also receive the internet protocol (“IP”) address of your computer or the proxy server that you use to access the web, your computer operating system, your type of web browser, your mobile device (including your mobile device identifier provided by your mobile device operating system), your mobile operating system (if you are accessing Giift.com using a mobile device), and the name of your ISP or your mobile carrier. We may also receive location data passed to us from third-party services or GPS-enabled devices that you have set up, which we use to show you local information (for example, weather information) on our iPad application.

We are constantly innovating to improve our Services. As such, we may create new ways to collect information on the Service.

 

3. Use of Personal Information

Consent to Giift.com Processing Information About You

The personal information you provide to us may reveal or allow others to identify aspects of your life that are not expressly stated on your profile. By providing personal information to us when you create or update your account and profile, you are expressly and voluntarily accepting the terms and conditions of Giift.com’s User Agreement and freely accepting and agreeing to our processing of your personal information in ways set out by this Privacy. Supplying information to us is entirely voluntary on your part. 

Giift.com Communications

We communicate with you through email, notices posted on the Giift.com website, messages to your Giift.com inbox, and other means available through the Service, including mobile text messages and push notifications. These messages may contain promotional information directly or on behalf of our partners, including best deals, promotions, and information from retail stores and merchants. Please be aware that you cannot opt out of receiving service messages from Giift.com. With certain communications you send on Giift.com, the recipient can see your name, email address, and some network information.

User Communication and Sharing with affiliates

Many communications that you initiate through Giift.com (for example, an invitation sent to a non-Member) will list your name and primary email address in the header of the message. Messages you initiate may also provide the recipient with aggregate information about your network (for example, how many people are in your network). Other communications that you initiate through the Services, like a request for an introduction, will list your name as the initiator but will not include your personal email address contact information. Once you have connected with an individual, regardless of who sent the invitation, your contact information will be shared with that individual.

We use the information you provide on your profile to customize your experience on Giift.com.

Compliance with Legal Process and Other Disclosures

It is possible that we may need to disclose personal information, profile information, or information about your activities as a Giift.com Member when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if Giift.com has a good faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (i) investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities or to assist government enforcement agencies; (ii) enforce the User Agreement, investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations, or protect the security or integrity of our Service; or (iii) exercise or protect the rights, property, or safety of Giift.com, our Members, personnel, or others.

If there is a change in control or sale of all or part of Giift.com, we may share your information with a third party, who will have the right to use that information in line with this Privacy Policy.

Disclosures to Others as the Result of a Change in Control or Sale of Giift.com Corporation

We may also disclose your personal information to a third party as part of a sale of the assets of Giift.com, a subsidiary, or division, or as the result of a change in control of the company or one of its affiliates, or in preparation for any of these events. Any third party to which Giift.com transfers or sells Giift.com’s assets will have the right to continue to use the personal and other information that you provide to us in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy.

 

4. Your Choices & Obligations

Rights to Access, Correct, or Delete Your Information, and Closing Your Account

You have a right to (i) access, modify, correct, or delete your personal information controlled by Giift.com regarding your profile, (ii) change or remove your content, and (iii) close your account. You can also contact us for any account information which is not on your profile or readily accessible to you. If you close your account, your information will generally be removed from the Service within 24 hours. We generally delete closed account information and will de-identify any logs or other backup information within 30 days of account closure, except as noted below.

Please note that information you have shared with others that others have copied may also remain visible after you have closed your account or deleted the information from your own profile. 

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed. For example, we may keep certain information even after you close your account if it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce this agreement.

Data Retention

We retain the personal information you provide while your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Giift.com may retain your personal information even after you have closed your account if retention is reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations, meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes between Members, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce this Privacy Policy and our User Agreement. We may retain personal information, for a limited period of time, if requested by law enforcement.
