Did you know that Puma and Adidas were a single company? Their common speciality in athletic shoes goes back to 1936, when one of the men who founded the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory – as it was known then – gave a pair to African-American sprinter Jesse Owens, who won 4 gold medals in them. The brothers grew apart, and one of them, Rudolf, renamed his business to Puma.
